On January 30, 2009 the U.S. Consumer Product
Safety Commission voted unanimously to issue a one year stay of enforcement for
certain testing and certification requirements for manufacturers and importers
of regulated products, including products intended for children 12 years old and
younger. However, the CPSC makes it clear that only testing
and certification are stayed, and not the need to comply with the rules,
regulations, etc. Schiff Ribbons believes that although our
products have not been tested and certified for overall lead and phthalate
content we believe that all our products comply with all applicable children's
product safety rules, including, but not limited to, the upcoming limits on lead
and phthalates in the CPSIA.
